STEELWING Parts Ways With Bassist, Seeks Replacement
February 24, 2011Bassist Skürk has left Swedish metallers STEELWING "due to life priorities that do not include any more extensive touring." The remaining members of the band state, "We support his decision, remain the best of friends and could never thank him enough for his dedicated service to the band."
STEELWING adds, "Thus, we begin the search for a new bassist with whom we can continue the story of STEELWING, starting with our second album and the tours to follow it.
"If you are:
* 18-25 years old
* A skilled bass player with plenty of studio and live experience
* Devoted to the sounds and looks of '80s heavy metal
* Living in the Stockholm/Nyköping area, willing to relocate to it or otherwise capable of rehearsing 1-3 times a week
* Humble, in it for the music and prepared for hard work and life on the road

STEELWING's "The Illusion" video can be viewed below. The song comes off the band's debut album, "Lord Of The Wasteland", which was released in Europe on April 30, 2010 via Noise Art Records, a division of Rock The Nation. The CD was recorded at Deep Blue Studios with producer Nicko DiMarino. The album artwork was created by Ed Repka.
STEELWING was awarded a record deal as part of a contest launched by the Austrian management and booking company Rock The Nation. This unique competition was presented and promoted by all leading European metal magazines, including the German, Italian, Spanish and Greek editions of Metal Hammer; Terrorizer (U.K.); Metallian (France); Scream (Norway); Rock Tribune (Belgium); Spark (Czech Republic); and the Dutch webzine LordsOfMetal.nl.
